sabbatimkon 3

EXHIBITIONS

Sabbatimkon 3 brought people and art together from all around the globe. Having experienced the first two exhibitions, people traveled to Charlottesville (VA) from Los Angeles (CA), Milano (Italy), Pittsburgh (PA), New York (NY) just to see what Sabbatimkon 3 could possibly offer. We didn’t dissappoint – again. This installment included an additional ‘happening’: the transformation of a Bed, Bath & Beyond superstore into a modern art gallery.

See below for an image gallery from the event. The Bed, Bath & Beyond video is coming soon..

Here’s the invitation:

Did you think that Sabbatimkon was over with?

Join us for the third rendition of the Sabbatimkon gallery.
We’ve got a two part show lined up.

pART 1: The Bed, Bath, & Beyond Gallery

This is a long awaited project that Konstantin and Chris have been discussing since their days back at UVa. Have you ever walked into that store and noticed the endless corridors of repeated images, colors… and thought: “Well, shit, this looks like a Pop Art collection.”

Well, we want to give this pillar of capitalism and consumerism the tribute it deserves by entering it as though it actually IS a gallery of Pop.

At 6:00PM we will gather at the entrance of the ‘Gallery’, dressed appropriately (look as nice as you can/want). Bring a wine glass which we will fill with cranberry juice (we ARE in America, wouldn’t want to get arrested for drinking in public). At least one platter of cheese and crackers will also be available.

Once gathered, we will walk through the store, marveling at all the beautiful compositions, discussing and critiquing as long as they will let us.

All of this will be captured on film – no matter what the outcome.
